Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
DAY 1: Start from HWH
Starts by Train from Howrah Railway Station.
DAY 2: Arrive at Guwahati
Arrive at Guwahati – gateway to the North East India, situated on the south bank of the mighty Brahmaputra, the city is a principal centre of socio – cultural, political, industries and trade & commerce of the entire region. Received and taken to visit Maa Kamakhya Mandir – one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage and Balaji Mandir – the replica of tirupati Balaji. Transferred to hotel. Over night at Guwahati.
DAY 3: Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park
After breakfast drive from Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park (220kms / 05hrs) – a World heritage site and Tiger reserve – is home to more than 80% of the world’s population of the great One horned rhinoceros. It has a significant population of Asian Elephant and water Buffalos living here and a wide variety of fauna and avifauna in a unique habitat of mainly grasslands, close tangled and thorny rattan cane, elephant grass and tall trees of evergreen forest and numerous water bodies. More than 400 species of birds both resident and migratory are found here. Over night at Kaziranga.
Day 4: Elephant ride & safari
Early morning Dep Kaziranga hotel for Elephant ride & after safari back to hotel .After lunch jeep safari in the western range of the park.(Night stay at Kaziranga ) (Elephant Safari & Jeep safari cost to be bourne by Passenger ).
Day 5: Kaziranga to Shillong
After breakfast drive to Shillong (300 km /8hrs) – capital of Meghalay, located at an altitude of 1496 m is one of the largest hill stations of India. Its name after its creator – u lie Shillong, who is believed to have resided on the Shillong peak. En route visit Barapani (Umium lake. Over night at Shillong ).
Day 6: Drive to Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, drive to cherrapunjee (56kms / 2.5hrs) – known as the rainiest rain belt in the world, the lovely town is also famous for its limestone caves and orange honey. En route visit Elephant falls. On reaching Cherrapunjee visit Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest water fall in the world). Seven sister falls (overlooking panoramic view of Bangladesh) and Dainthalen falls. Drive back to Shillong. Over night at Shillong.
Day 7: Drive to Dawki
After breakfast drive to Dawki (95km/4hrs). Enroute visit Mawlynnong village famous for its matrilineal society as well as having been dubbed Asia’s cleanest village. The magazine Discover India declared the village as the cleanest in Asia in 2003 and the cleanest in India 2005.visit “Living Root Bridge” and dawki Bridge ,is a suspension bridge over the Umngot river. It was constructed in 1932 by British, afternoon back to Shillong.
Day 8: Dep Shillong Hotel for Shillong city Tour
Dep Shillong Hotel for Shillong city Tour: Visit Don Bosco Museum, Polo ground, Wards Lake, lady Hydari park & transfer to Guwahati hotel & stay at Guwahati.
Day 9: Dep Guwahati hotel
Dep Guwahati hotel & drop at Guwahati station & Same day Dep Guwahati Rly. Stn.
